B-Supreme (Coenzymated B-vitamin complex) - capsules
A comprehensive B vitamin complex formulated with bioidentical and coenzymated forms of B vitamins for enhanced nutrient absorption and bioavailability.
This very powerful B vitamin combination formula supplies most of the B vitamins in their coenzymated forms, so the body does not have to phosphorylate them in order to be used in biochemical reactions. This formula also includes TMG and choline to support methylation.
B-Supreme is a comprehensive B vitamin complex formula designed to promote micronutrient status for optimal cellular function and healthy physiology. It supplies clinically useful amounts of B vitamins in their preferred coenzymated and phosphorylated forms, making them more readily available for biochemical reactions.
This formula also contains bioidentical, methylated forms of folate and vitamin B12 for superior bioavailability. Choline and trimethylglycine (TMG) are included to help support efficient methylation for optimal genetic expression.
Highlights:
-
Formulated with bioidentical and coenzymated B vitamins for enhanced absorption and bioavailability
-
Features the bioactive form of folate, Quatrefolicยฎ [6S]-5-methyltetrahydrofolate (MTHF), and vitamin B12 as MecobalActiveยฎ methylcobalamin
-
Choline and TMG added to support methylation pathways
-
Vegetable capsule; suitable for vegetarians and vegans
Why B Vitamins Are Important:
B vitamins are water-soluble micronutrients needed in small amounts by the body. They fall into two main categories:
-
Those involved in one-carbon metabolism (single-carbon transfers).
-
Those involved in energy production and redox reactions.
Populations at higher risk of B vitamin deficiencies include:
-
Vegans and vegetarians
-
Individuals with alcoholism
-
Patients with congestive heart failure, obesity, or diabetes
-
The elderly
-
Individuals who have undergone bariatric surgery
Supplementation with B complex vitamins has been shown to:
-
Reduce homocysteine (Hcy) levels (an inflammatory marker in cardiovascular, metabolic, and neurological conditions)
-
Slow cognitive decline
-
Exhibit analgesic properties via the nitric oxide/cGMP pathway
Benefits:
-
Supports B vitamin status in the body
-
Promotes optimal intake of essential micronutrients for overall health
-
Supports healthy homocysteine metabolism
-
May be helpful for individuals following vegan or vegetarian diets
Ingredient Highlights:
-
Thiamine (B1): Critical for ATP production, brain and nerve health, and acetylcholine neurotransmission. Deficiency often linked to alcoholism and malabsorption.
-
Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin & Riboflavin-5-Phosphate): Crucial in redox reactions, folate metabolism, thyroid regulation, iron absorption, and glutathione recycling. Cofactor for MTHFR enzyme, relevant to homocysteine metabolism.
-
Niacinamide (B3): Important for cellular energy and NADโบ production, impacting metabolism, circadian rhythm, and brain health.
-
Pantothenic Acid (B5): Required for coenzyme A production; supports lipid and triglyceride metabolism.
-
Vitamin B6 (as P5P and pyridoxine HCl): Essential in neurotransmitter synthesis (serotonin, dopamine, GABA, etc.); linked to homocysteine metabolism.
-
Biotin: Supports skin, hair, nail health, and metabolism of glucose, fats, and amino acids. High doses may improve glycemic control and lipid metabolism.
-
Folate (Quatrefolicยฎ): A stable, bioavailable 5-MTHF form; essential for one-carbon metabolism and prevention of hyperhomocysteinemia.
-
Vitamin B12 (Methylcobalamin): Bioidentical to physiological B12; supports methylation, mitochondrial enzymes, and cognitive health.
Contraindications
-
Avoid high doses of niacin/niacinamide in cases of jaundice, ulcers, gastritis, renal failure, gout, or certain heart conditions.
-
Patients on Levodopa should avoid vitamin B6 (can inactivate the drug).
-
Lactating women should not exceed 50 mg/day of B6 (may suppress lactation).
-
High doses of biotin may interfere with hormone diagnostic assays (e.g., thyroid tests).
-
Folate or folic acid should not be combined with methotrexate.
